WORTHINGTON, OH – August 22, 2026 – Author and academic Sharyn Talbert makes her fiction debut with “Memory’s Compass,” a powerful exploration of family, tragedy, and the search for meaning. Blending elements of literary fiction and mystery, “Memory’s Compass” is based on true events.
The story follows a woman haunted by personal loss as she journeys across Minnesota, Ohio, Florida, and Denmark. Along the way, she discovers surprising new relatives who guide her in a quest to untangle generational secrets.
Talbert’s writing has drawn exceptional praise from literary and academic experts alike, including Pulitzer Prize winner Julia Keller, who describes it as “lush and lyrical, an unforgettable portrait of soul-pummeling grief leavened by memory and love.” Told with unflinching candor and offering insights into life’s most difficult questions, “This is a story about every family’s greatest fear,” writes Lucas Kino, author of “Foxfire,” “a profound work of real importance.”
