Security Built into the Hardware
Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 devices now offer PQC-enabled secure boot, helping authenticate trusted device configurations while protecting long-life systems against future quantum-era threats. Beyond PQC-enabled secure boot, the FPGA’s Secure Device Manager (SDM) provides additional security capabilities including bitstream encryption for IP protection, physical anti-tamper support, key management, physically unclonable function (PUF) keys, embedded cryptographic cores, and platform attestation.
Altera’s PQC-enabled FPGAs are designed to support additional software and firmware security enhancements as post-quantum requirements evolve. This flexibility helps customers address changing security and compliance requirements while extending the value of their hardware investments.
“Customers building long-life systems need confidence that the hardware they choose today can adapt to tomorrow’s security requirements,” said Mike Fitton, vice president of product and corporate marketing, Altera. “PQC-enabled Agilex devices give customers a foundation they can deploy today and evolve over time as post-quantum standards mature and new threats emerge.”
The reprogrammable architecture of Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 FPGAs helps customers extend product lifecycles by enabling designs to evolve as security requirements, workloads, interfaces, and standards change. The FPGAs provide a flexible, scalable platform for a broad range of embedded and edge applications by combining performance and power efficiency to help meet evolving system requirements.
