Qount Launches MCP Connector to Bring Practice Management Data Into AI Tools

New feature lets accounting firms connect Qount data directly to ChatGPT, Claude, and the AI tools they already use
PLANO, Texas, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Qount today announced the launch of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Connector, giving accounting firms a direct way to use data from their practice management platform with AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other tools that support MCP connections.
Accounting firms are adopting AI quickly, but useful results depend on giving those tools enough information about the firm itself. Much of that information already lives in practice management. Qount brings together client activity, workflows, time and billing, staff performance, documents, communications, and other information about how work moves across the firm. Through MCP, firms can make that data available to the AI tools they choose.
“The real opportunity with AI is not simply making firm data easier to query. It is giving AI the context to help firms make better, more profitable decisions,” said Uday Koorella, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Qount. “Practice management brings together the information that drives firm economics, including clients, people, workflows, capacity, time, billing and collections. Through MCP, firms can use that information in the AI tools they already work with to identify pricing opportunities, understand where profitability is being lost, and spot operational risks earlier.”
Get Answers With a Question, Not a Report
Many of the questions partners ask about firm performance do not map neatly to a single report.
With Qount MCP, partners can ask which clients may present pricing opportunities, where overdue work is concentrated, how different service lines are performing, or what risks deserve attention.
Their AI tool can identify the relevant information in Qount, bring it together, and explain what it finds. Partners can use that analysis to investigate changes in performance, identify patterns or unusual activity, and dig further into the factors behind them.
Qount Brings AI Into Day-to-Day Firm Management
The MCP connection can also support ongoing analysis rather than individual queries.
Firms can use Qount data to create recurring management briefs, monitor selected metrics, analyze pricing opportunities, identify risks, generate spreadsheets, or build their own measures of performance.
For example, partners could create a recurring summary of practice performance that highlights important changes, emerging risks, and the issues that warrant attention that day, week, or month.
Firms can also combine information from across the practice to define and track measures specific to the way they manage their business, rather than relying only on predefined reports or dashboards.
Expanding How Firms Use Their Data
MCP is part of the Qount Data Connector™, which gives firms several ways to work with their data depending on the need. Firms can use APIs to connect Qount with other business systems, the Qount Data Lake for large-scale reporting and historical analysis, and MCP to bring Qount data into AI tools.
Together, these options give firms more flexibility in how they access and use the data generated across their practice.
“We don’t believe firms should have to choose between working with their data inside Qount or using the AI technology that best fits the way they work,” Koorella said. “Our goal is to make the information inside Qount more useful wherever firms are making decisions.”
As AI takes on a larger role in how accounting firms analyze performance and manage their businesses, Qount is focused on making the data already captured in practice management easier to use in those workflows.
